Soft Wash Program

Professional Home Exterior Washing

The City of Greendale's Soft Wash Program offers property owners a safe and effective way to clean their home's exteriors without the risk of damage. Using a low-pressure washing system and a biodegradable cleaning solution, this service gently removes dirt and grime while protecting surfaces. The program is provided by Fish Window Cleaning and made possible through funding from the Dearborn Community Foundation Greendale Beautification Fund. Greendale Soft Wash Program Details:

All program details, zones, and maps are subject to change at any time.

The Greendale Soft Wash Program covers soft washing for residences and accessory buildings in both Zone A and Zone B. Residential properties in Zone A may participate in the program once every three (3) years and have all eligible soft washing costs paid by the program. Residential properties in Zone B may participate in the program once every five (5) years and have all eligible soft washing costs paid by the program. Program will not include washing of any roofs. Outside temperature must be at least 40 degrees Fahrenheit for solution to work efficiently. Program expires and jobs must be completed by Dec. 31, 2025.
 

Property Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a residential property.

  • Property owner must approve of program participation.

  • Residential property must be located in Zone A or Zone B of the City of Greendale. See maps below for zone delineation.
     

Eligible Costs:

  • Soft washing of exterior facades of residential homes, including exterior walls and doors.

  • Soft washing of outbuildings associated with residential homes including detached garages and storage sheds.


Ineligible Costs:

  • NOTE: Ineligible costs may be contracted with Fish Window Cleaning for cleaning at additional cost paid by the property owner.

  • Soft washing of roofs, windows, or decks of any structure.

  • Soft washing of vehicles, including RVs.

  • Cleaning or unclogging of gutters.
     

Property Owner Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to prove property ownership.

  • Must sign disclaimer and release forms.

  • Must provide working outdoor hose spigot.

  • Must remove all window screens before cleaning. Fish Window Cleaning will provide assistance to elderly or disabled residents.

  • Must trim or remove foliage hindering cleaning of property.

  • Must ensure gutters and downspouts are clean.
     

Fish Window Cleaning and City of Greendale are not liable for any breakage or damage to any old, weathered, brittle, or previously damaged building components. Fish Window Cleaning and City of Greendale are not liable for leaky windows and doors. Fish Window Cleaning and City of Greendale are not responsible for blockages located below ground level. This program will not repair or replace windows, doors, roofs, decks gutters, downspouts, or other exterior or interior components of participating properties.
